The Tune Keeper is a device that is designed to keep your electric guitar in tune for a longer period of time, especially during performances.

Some iconic and beloved head-stock designs, of the 3 + 3 variety, have significant angles from the nut to the tuning keys, especially for the D and G strings. This causes issues with tuning where the sharp angles from the tuning machines to the nut can cause unwanted binding between the strings and the nut, in 2 common ways:

1) While Tuning the guitar, the strings, especially the wound strings, can bind on the nut, resulting in multiple attempts at tuning the strings.

2) While playing the guitar, especially where the bending of strings occurs, the strings can bind on the nut, resulting in the strings not returning to their original tuning.

The Tune Keeper uses gentle curves, through which the strings pass, above the nut, between the nut and the tuning machines. These curves alleviate the binding problem between the nut and Tuning keys.

The Tune Keeper is primarily for electric guitars with head-stocks of 3 + 3 variety as this head-stock, especially the variations that are more wide, with greater distance between the tuning machines, left vs. the right.

Installing the Tune Keeper requires no modification to your guitar whatsoever. To install the Tune Keeper, simply:

• Loosen the strings and gently and dust the area of the head-stock just above the nut as this is where the Tune Keeper will be placed. The Tune Keeper is not designed to place any substantial force on the guitar head-stock in order to stay in place. Instead, it is kept in place by the tension of the strings. Nevertheless, you will want to make sure that the area where the Tune Keeper will rest is reasonably free of abrasive debris or material before placing the Tune Keeper into position.

• Place the Tune Keeper right above and touching the nut, with the curved outer portion facing upward, and “legs” facing downward, touching the nut.

• Place the strings in their respective guides, as aligned with their respective notches in the nut.

• Tune as normal.
